Why Cogoleto

A village that doesn't give itself up in a hurry.

Cogoleto is one of those places a guidebook can't flatten into a single page. A thousand years of sea, a square that's still the village square, two historic bakeries kneading focaccia at dawn, and a tradition — contested, of course — that names it as Christopher Columbus's birthplace. Nothing here is calibrated for tourists, and that's exactly why visitors fall for it.

  • A fishing village

A thousand years on the water. The fish arrives at dawn from the little port, and you can taste it.

  • Excellent waters

Classified "excellent" by ARPAL Liguria, confirmed year after year.

  • Beigua 15 min away

The UNESCO Global Geopark begins out the back door: paths between sea and Alps.
